you don't make commitments you can't keep;

Yesterday, we were supposed to shop for a friend's birthday present before meeting friends and embarking on what proved to be my downfall for the rest of the night. Anyway the point is that, I saw this PS1 like bag from C&K and am still thinking about it! Okay, it wasn't very PS1 like but the point is that it is grey & navy blue & very pretty & very me.

And also yesterday, I stepped into MPH bookstore while waiting for 2 very late boys and realized it has been a long time since I last picked up a book for leisure and not because of a compulsion to do so. Then I realised that it's been a long time since I did anything for leisure and not because I was compelled to do it; because I had to. I couldn't sleep last night because of the sugar from the souffle, so this morning I went running with all the sugar in my system. It's time to start doing things that I want, isn't it?

&& oh Sonia, we need to work on our mutual telepathy. The only words we managed to say in sync yesterday was: ptosis and exopthalmos. Tragik.

It's raining, raining. Oh baby it's raining, raining.

While reading Watchmen, I've been bloghopping/shopping and looking at Split Cameras.

AGAIN.

(: life is good & I love the rainnnnn.

ps: anyone wants to go for rachael yamagata's concert! (: /looks at sonia hopefully.

pps: It distresses me greatly when I find that I've nothing to wear for a wedding. AMG in my subconscious I've secretly been hand-wringing over what to wear on saturday.

ppps: I want my online stuff to come nowwwwww.

Twilight, among other things.

So then because I couldn't find anyone to go watch Twilight with me, I caught it by myself :)
And then, mmm I multitasked during the movie because it was so boring :(

This is why I much prefer books over movies, most of the time. Unless the casting / director / soundtrack / adaptation is really good, books >>> movies x 1000000.

And then, the only thing the movie did for me was, incite a desire to read all 4 books again! OH HELP ME NOW.

I think my love for Jawetz shall, and must triumph. Failing which, the results will be disasterousssssssss.

On a book rampage

After sunday lunch at Il Piccolo, we trooped to Bedok Community Library; where I swooped on 7 books.
2 Nora Roberts, 1 Terry Pratchett, 1 Barbara Bradford, 1 Tami Hoag, 2 Michael Cox.
Congratulations to me, nicely done.
Siqi's Russian Concubine is my the car's boot because she didn't want it to surface at her swimwear party.

This week's the 2nd week of the December holidays, and with my days filling up fast, it only means 1 thing: time to study!

I will be at got salt? camp tomorrow through saturday. :)

The Clothes On Their Backs by Linda Grant

' Let me tell you a secret - now don't repeat this to your father, I'm only telling you because it's a special day. It wasn't Ervin I met first in his family, it was his terrible brother. He walked past me when I was in a cafe with some girlfriends and he tipped his hat, just like that. Not at the others, at me. My stick was leaning against the table so it wasn't a mistake. He knew. I was so surprised and blushing, but he came over and asked me to join him the next day for an ice-cream. Well, you know, no one had ever paid any attention to me before in that way, so I turned up. Why not? It was an adventure for me. All by myself, I went, I was eighteen. '

' Where was this? '

' Oh, a cafe along the river where you could sit out and eat ices and look at Buda on the other side and the boats sailing along. Now after only a few minutes even an innocent could see that he was a bad man, a womaniser, not for me at all, but then who should turn up but Ervin and he introduced us, and the Ervin - well. '

' So you knew Sandor before Daddy? '

' Yes, only a day. But I have to admit, if I never met him, then I never met your father, and where would you be now, eh? '

' Nowhere. '

' Exactly. '

' And then of course Ervin had the sense to bring us out of Hungary in the nick of time. Sandor has no such sense. '

' What was he like? '

' Ugly, but very attractive at the same time. Look, he was a pimp, he knew how to talk to women. '

' Why do you think he tipped his hat to you and asked you for ice-cream? '

' I don't know. He is a complicated person. '

' What did you see in Daddy? '

' He had beautiful eyes. Even under his glasses. The eyes of a man who looks. '

the clothes, on our backs.

I went to the library today! Sounds so geeky (and probably is), but yay :)
I was breaking in my recent shoe #1, and traipsing around trying to find the Adults section. Upon discovering it was on the first floor, and bypassing this couple sitting on the corner on the floor (& blocking my access to GAR-GRA) I finally managed to borrow The Clothes On Their Backs. So am happy, because I wanted to buy it & it would cost me 34 dollars (?!). Also borrowed The Quest and On Beauty (which I have had no time to read although I wanted to like 1 year ago. so pathetic right.)

I secretly like Egyptian myths and quests. I suspect I may like it more than, say Midnight's Children. Horrors.

Am reluctant to go to school tomorrow. I think its a mixture of reluctance and plain laziness. Sometimes I wish I could teleport, just like mmm. What Hero teleports?

Anyway, Google Reader my trusted friend has drawn my attention to the H&M lookbook for 2009 (which is round the corner, again! time is passing too fast.)

now only if it weren't so Hot here every other day, and raining on the days that are not hot, i think we could wear so much more. alot of camel, pink, white and black, very nice. H&M please, please come to our shores & bring some fringe things too.

all of this is more than i've ever known, or seen.

At long last, i am satisfied with the layout.
I want to go to the library, i think my soul needs a good book.
Speaking of good books, i have yet to finish Midnight's Children. Perhaps that will be on my list of things to do.
Okay hen hao. My parents fly off to Israel next week, and once again, I'll be the mistress of the house.
